A Remembrance Rose garden has been completed by Bloom volunteers beside St James Church in Coundon. The rose garden was funded by donations from local businesses and community residents to commemorate the 100th anniversary celebrations on the end of WWI and to acknowledge all later conflicts. We would like to mention all who were involved in this project. Firstly, the Journey Centre clients who donated their time to dig the bed, B&Q and Homebase for donating compost and a standard Centre Rose, CMW Utilities, a local Utilities business who funded the 36 Remembrance roses, Eldon Hope Building Materials for donating cement and paving and finally the Coundon Bloom volunteers for planting and placing the commemorative plaque. This has been a community project at its best.
