What does the poppy mean to you?

Few flowers have made such a significant impact on religion, mythology, politics and medicine.

Over the years the humble poppy has been used as a symbol to represent some very deep emotions.

For many the poppy represents

  • remembering the fallen of various wars who gave their lives to save ours
  • peace in death
  • resurrectiin and eternal life

The red poppy symbolises death and consolation in the Westminster but love and success in the East.

White is used for funerals and memorials in the East, and sleep and peaceful rest in the West

Purple, pink and blue are tied to imagination, luxury and success.
